Following the events of Episode I, Metal Sonic has returned to form a formidable alliance with Dr. Eggman! To face this new threat, Sonic will have to call upon an old friend to help him save the day! Joined by Tails, utilise ingenious combination moves and race across four brand new Zones, in order to put an end to their evil plans!

Play alone, or with a friend locally and online, in an evolution of Sonic 2's collaborative gameplay! Unleash Sonic and Tails' devastating joint attacks and combination moves to fight the united force of Metal Sonic and Dr. Eggman.

Episode II features an all new game engine, bringing you updated physics and an original graphical style as you race through four unique Zones.

Français Sonic the Hedgehog 4 : Episode II est un jeu de plates-formes sur PS3. Il propose quatre zones de jeu, chacune constituée de trois actes et d'un boss. Parmi les nouveautés, on note l'apparition d'un second personnage, Tails, qui aide Sonic dans le mode solo et permet au titre de se doter d'un mode coopératif pour deux joueurs.
Portugais Metal Sonic sobreviveu a sua derrota anterior em Sonic CD, mas foi severamente danificado, e deixado em Little Planet, quando desapareceu no final do jogo. Após os eventos do Episódio I, Little Planet retorna e Dr. Eggman localiza e repara o Metal Sonic. Sonic ouve que Eggman está de volta e se reúne com Tails para detê-lo. Enquanto isso, Metal Sonic, depois de receber uma misteriosa fonte de energia, procura os heróis e os vê voando no Tornado, seguindo-os usando o foguete do Tails.

É revelado que Eggman planeja construir um novo Death Egg mk.II sobre Little Planet. Quando o planeta anão volta para o espaço, Sonic e Tails seguem os vilões até o Death Egg. No interior, eles confrontam e derrotam o Metal Sonic. Mais tarde, eles derrotam Eggman no coração da base.
