Allemand Zoids versetzt dich in eine futuristische Kriegswelt, in der du als gestrandeter Erdling in den Konflikt zweier uralter Feinde hineingezogen wirst. Nach deinem Absturz verbündest du dich mit deinen Rettern und steuerst einen gigantischen Kampfroboter – einen Zoid. Aus der Cockpit-Perspektive kämpfst du gegen feindliche Zoids der roten Fraktion. Dein Blick nach außen erfolgt ausschließlich über die Instrumententafeln deines Mechs, was viel Übung erfordert. Auf dem Bildschirm siehst du Anzeigen für deine eigene Gesundheit sowie die deines Roboters, visualisiert durch Herzschlaganzeigen und akustische Signale. Ein Radar zeigt deine Position und markiert Gelände sowie erkannte Gegner. Rund um das Cockpit findest du alle wichtigen Steuerungen für Railgun, Schilde, Störsender, Raketen und weitere Systeme. Ziel ist es, die gegnerischen Zoids zu orten und in taktischen Kämpfen zu besiegen.

Anglais Zoids places you in a futuristic war where, as a stranded Earthman, you are drawn into the conflict between two ancient enemies. After your crash you join your rescuers and pilot a massive battle robot – a Zoid – to fight against the red enemy forces. Played entirely from the cockpit view, your only contact with the outside world is through the robot's instrument panels, demanding practice and experimentation. Displays show your own health and that of your Zoid via visual and audible heartbeats, while a radar maps terrain and enemy positions. Around the cockpit are all essential controls for railgun, shields, jamming, missiles, and other systems. The goal is to locate and destroy enemy Zoids through tactical combat.
