Allemand adidas Power Soccer 98 ist der vierte und letzte Titel der Psygnosis-Reihe. Diese Edition bietet die klassische Mischung aus Arcade- und simuliertem Gameplay aus den vorherigen Spielen und aktualisiert das Spiel um zwölf verschiedene Arten von Turnieren und Pokalen, elf internationale Ligen, 120 Nationalmannschaften und etwa 30 verschiedene Stadien.
Neben dem klassischen Gameplay stehen den Spielern verschiedene Spielzüge wie Flickpässe, kurze Dribblings und Sliding Tackles zur Verfügung. In beiden Modi (Arcade-Modus und Simulation) gibt es eine Geschwindigkeitstaste, die den Spieler dazu bringt, mit extremer und etwas unrealistischer Geschwindigkeit zu laufen. Dies ist nicht unbedingt ein Vorteil, da dadurch die Lücke zwischen Ball und Fuß vergrößert wird und die Spieler mehr Spielraum für Tacklings haben. Im Gegensatz zu ähnlichen Spielen gibt es auch keine Möglichkeit, durch die verfügbaren Spieler zu scrollen – das Spiel wählt automatisch den Spieler aus, der dem Ball am nächsten ist.
Die Kamera ist dynamisch und zoomt stufenlos hinein und heraus, um den besten Überblick über das Spielfeld zu geben. Der Mehrspielermodus ist über Multitap für bis zu vier Spieler verfügbar. Es wurde im Juni 1998 anlässlich der damals in Frankreich ausgetragenen Weltmeisterschaft 1998 veröffentlicht.

Anglais adidas Power Soccer 98 is the fourth and final title in the Psygnosis series. Offering the classic mix of arcade and simulated gameplay from the previous games, this edition updates the game twelve different types of tournaments and cups, eleven international leagues, 120 national teams and about 30 different stadia to play in.

Aside from the classic gameplay players have different moves such as flick-passes, short dribbles, and sliding tackles. In both both (arcade modes and simulation), there is a speed button that makes players run at an extreme and somewhat unrealistic speed. It is not entirely an advantage as using it widens the gap between the ball and the foot, leaving players wide open for tackles. Unlike similar games, there also isn't a way to scroll through the available players - the game automatically selects the player nearest to the ball.

The camera is dynamic and smoothly zooms in and out to give the best overview of the pitch. Multiplayer is available for up to four players through multitap. It was released in June of 1998 to coincide with the 1998 World Cup played in France at that time.

Además de la jugabilidad clásica, los jugadores tienen diferentes movimientos, como pases rápidos, botes cortos y tacleadas. En ambos (modos arcade y simulación), hay un botón de velocidad que hace que los jugadores corran a una velocidad extrema y poco realista. No es del todo una ventaja ya que su uso amplía la brecha entre la pelota y el pie, dejando a los jugadores completamente abiertos para tacleadas. A diferencia de juegos similares, tampoco hay una forma de desplazarse por los jugadores disponibles: el juego selecciona automáticamente al jugador más cercano a la pelota.

La cámara es dinámica y se acerca y aleja suavemente para ofrecer la mejor visión general del campo. El modo multijugador está disponible para hasta cuatro jugadores a través de multitap. Fue lanzado en junio de 1998 para coincidir con la Copa del Mundo de 1998 que se jugó en Francia en ese momento.

Oferecendo a mistura clássica de arcade e jogabilidade simulada dos jogos anteriores, esta edição atualiza o jogo com doze tipos diferentes de torneios e copas, onze ligas internacionais, 120 seleções nacionais e cerca de 30 estádios diferentes para jogar.
Além da jogabilidade clássica, os jogadores têm jogadas diferentes, como flick-passes, dribles curtos e tacadas deslizantes. Em ambos os modos (arcade e simulação), há um botão de velocidade que faz os jogadores correr em uma velocidade extrema e algo irrealista.
