Anglais Bringing a new breath to SNK's swordsman fighting series, this 4th installment marks the return of 3 classic characters (Yagyu Jubei, Charlotte and Tam Tam, now with updated stuff), introduces 2 newcomers for the pantheon (the brothers Sogetsu Kazama and Kazuki Kazama) and brings some new backgrounds. In spite of these little improvements, the game preserved (and improved a lot) many elements that did the previous one (Samurai Shodown III: Blades of Blood) a quite popular title, like the dodge move and the chance to choose between two versions of the fighter: the standard one and an alternative dark-styled one (SLASH and BUST, respectively).

Français En apportant un nouveau souffle à la série de combats à l'épée de SNK, ce 4ème épisode marque le retour de 3 personnages classiques (Yagyu Jubei, Charlotte et Tam Tam, maintenant avec un équipement actualisé), introduit 2 nouveaux venus au panthéon (les frères Sogetsu Kazama et Kazuki Kazama) et apporte quelques nouveaux décors. Malgré ces petites améliorations, le jeu a conservé (et beaucoup amélioré) de nombreux éléments qui ont fait du précédent (Samurai Shodown III : Blades of Blood) un titre assez populaire, comme le mouvement d'esquive et la possibilité de choisir entre deux versions du combattant : la version standard et une version alternative de style sombre (SLASH et BUST, respectivement).
