Allemand Dig Dug wurde als Arcade Spiel 1982 von Namco veröffentlicht. Das beliebte Spiel mit einfachen Konzept wurde auf viele Konsolen und Heimcomputer (z. B. C64) portiert.
Dig Dugs Spielziel ist es, höhlenbewohnende Monster zu vernichten.
Es gibt zwei Gegner: Pooka und Fygar
Der Spieler steuert einen tunnelgrabenden Bergmann, der sein Leben lässt, wenn er von einem Monster erwischt, von Fygars Feuer verbrannt oder von einem herabfallenden Stein erschlagen wird.
Man muss viermal mit dem Feuerknopf pumpen, um ein Monster platzen zu lassen. Halb aufgeblasene Monster erholen sich nach einigen Sekunden wieder, sind bis dahin aber gelähmt.
Das Spiel läuft in einer Schleife. Der jeweils letzte Feind versucht an der Erdoberfläche links aus dem Bild zu laufen. Der Level wird durch Blumen in der rechten oberen Ecke repräsentiert. In jedem Folgelevel steigen Anzahl und Geschwindigkeit der Gegner

Anglais Dig Dug is a 1-2 player arcade game in which you have to use your shovel to dig your way through the earth. Stopping you from doing this are two monsters, called Pooka and Fygar, who will continually chase you around. The only weapon that you carry is an air pump, which you can use to inflate the monsters to the point where they explode. (if you start to inflate them but stop doing so, the monsters will get turned back to their normal selves.) Furthermore, rocks are scattered throughout the earth, and you can use these rocks to squash them. If the monsters do not find you for several seconds, they will eventually get turned into ghosts, which are able to walk through the earth. They are invincible and cannot be killed. From time to time, vegetables will appear in the center, and you can get these for points.
Espagnol Dig Dug es un juego de arcade para 1-2 jugadores en el que debes usar tu pala para abrirte paso en la tierra. Trataran de detenerte dos monstruos, llamados Pooka y Fygar, que continuamente te perseguirán. La única arma que llevas es una bomba de aire, que puedes utilizar para inflar los monstruos hasta que exploten. (Si comienzas a inflarlos pero dejas de hacerlo, los monstruos volverán a su estado normal). Además, hay rocas que están dispersas por toda la tierra, y puedes usar estas rocas para aplastarlos. Si los monstruos no te encuentran se convertirán en fantasmas, que pueden atravesar la tierra. Son invencibles. De vez en cuando, apareceran verduras en el centro, y puedes obtenerlas para obtener mas puntos.

Ce grand classique est à la fois un jeu d'action et d'arcade old school et un jeu de stratégie. Attirez vos ennemis là où vous le souhaitez et écrasez-les avec les rochers !

Italien Dig Dug è un gioco arcade per 1-2 giocatori in cui devi usare la tua pala per scavare nella terra. A impedirti di farlo ci sono due mostri, chiamati Pooka e Fygar, che ti inseguiranno continuamente. L'unica arma che porti è una pompa ad aria, che puoi usare per gonfiare i mostri fino al punto in cui esplodono. (se inizi a gonfiarli ma smetti di farlo, i mostri torneranno al loro sé normale.) Inoltre, le rocce sono sparse in tutta la terra e puoi usarle per schiacciarle. Se i mostri non ti trovano per diversi secondi, alla fine verranno trasformati in fantasmi, che sono in grado di camminare attraverso la terra. Sono invincibili e non possono essere uccisi. Di tanto in tanto, le verdure appariranno al centro e puoi ottenerle per punti.

Portugais Dig Dug, que nome esquisito, mas que bom jogo. Você é uma espécie de toupeira que cava buracos e que deve evitar ser comido por outros animais. E sua única arma é colocar a língua para fora para engoli-los.
