Allemand Air Buster ist ein schneller Side-Scrolling-Shooter. Der Spieler steuert ein kleines Handwerk durch verschiedene Ebenen mit vielen Feinden. Jeder Level endet mit einem Endgegner und einige Abschnitte beschleunigen das Gameplay und bieten schnelle Hindernisparcours sowohl horizontal als auch vertikal scrollend. Fliegende orangefarbene Pods setzen viele Power-Ups auf einmal frei, die die Schiffe mit neuen oder stärkeren Lasern, Flügelmännern und Schilden aufrüsten. Der Spieler kann auch die Feuertaste gedrückt halten, um eine Explosion aufzuladen, die alle gegnerischen Kugeln vom Bildschirm entfernt und allen Feinden Schaden zufügt. Mit einem unversöhnlichen Schwierigkeitsgrad ist jeder Treffer tödlich, aber das Spiel kann von jedem Punkt aus fortgesetzt werden, solange noch Leben und Credits vorhanden sind. Das Spiel kann mit zwei Spielern kooperativ gespielt werden.

Anglais Air Buster is a fast side-scrolling shooter. The player controls a small craft through different levels with many enemies. Every level ends with a boss and some section speed up the gameplay, offering fast obstacle courses both horizontally and vertically scrolling. Flying orange pods release many power-ups at once, enhancing the ships with new or more powerful lasers, wing men and shields. The player can also hold the fire key to charge a blast that removes all enemy bullets from the screen and deals damage to all enemies. With an unforgiving difficulty, every hit is fatal, but the game can be continued from any points as long as there are lives and credits left. The game can be played with two players cooperatively.

Français Air Buster est un shoot'em up sur Megadrive. Le joueur contrôle un vaisseau et élimine tous les ennemis qui se présentent devant lui. A la fin de chaque niveau, un boss apparaît et laisse peu de place à l'erreur. Évitez les obstacles avec soin pour espérer en sortir vivant où jouer en coopération avec un ami pour une expérience accrue.
Italien Air Buster è uno sparatutto a scorrimento laterale veloce. Il giocatore controlla una piccola nave attraverso diverse fasi con molti nemici. Ogni fase termina con un boss e alcune sezioni accelerano il gioco, offrendo corse ad ostacoli veloci sia in orizzontale che in verticale. Le capsule arancione volanti rilasciano più potenziamenti contemporaneamente, migliorando le navi con laser, aiutanti e scudi nuovi o più potenti. Il giocatore può anche premere il pulsante di fuoco per caricare un'esplosione che rimuove tutti i colpi nemici dallo schermo e danneggia tutti i nemici. Con difficoltà implacabile, ogni colpo è fatale, ma il gioco può essere continuato da qualsiasi punto, purché ci siano vite e crediti. Il gioco può essere giocato in modo cooperativo con due giocatori.

Portugais Air Buster é um jogo de tiro side-scrolling. O jogador controla uma pequena nave através de diferentes fases com muitos inimigos. Cada fase termina com um chefe e algumas seções aceleram o jogo, oferecendo rápidos percursos de obstáculos tanto horizontalmente quanto verticalmente. Cápsulas laranjas voadoras liberam vários power-ups ao mesmo tempo, aprimorando as naves com novos ou mais poderosos lasers, ajudantes e escudos. O jogador também pode pressionar o botão de tiro para carregar uma explosão que remove todos os tiros inimigos da tela e causa danos a todos os inimigos. Com uma dificuldade implacável, cada golpe é fatal, mas o jogo pode ser continuado a partir de qualquer ponto, desde que haja vidas e créditos. O jogo pode ser jogado com dois jogadores de forma cooperativa.
