Anglais Similar to its predecessor, the premise of After Burner II is to get on the F-14 Tomcat and fly mission after mission of shooting planes out of the sky. At your disposal is a vulcan cannon (basically a machine gun) and a limited number of missiles. In some versions of the game the guns fire automatically all the time. Sometimes you come across a friendly supply plane and if you dock with it you can replenish your missiles.

The game is viewed from behind the plane with you fighting wave after wave of enemy fighters. But at heart it offers the usual shooter mechanics, meaning you spend most of your time dodging and shooting. You also can speed up and slow down to deal with enemies which appear behind you.

Français After Burner II est un jeu d'action sur Megadrive. Le jeu vous met aux commandes d'un puissant F-14 Tomcat afin d'abattre tous vos ennemis lors des différentes missions. Plusieurs armes sont à votre disposition : une mitraillette Vulcan Fire ainsi qu'un nombre limité de missiles.
Italien Non avete tempo di pensare, solo quello di urlare. Siete attorniato da caccia nemici e altri ancora vi inseguono. Si avvicinano ad una velocità di Mach 5, mentre cercate di crivellarli di colpi.
Non siete pronti per un attacco cosi veloce. Potete solo accendere il vostro postbruciatore andando in picchiata girando su voi stessi. Piroettate a 360 mentre il nemico vi passa cosi vicino da sfiorarvi la punta delle ali.

After Burner II é um re-lançamento atualizado do jogo After Burner. Além de fases extras, alguns novos inimigos, alguns toques na trilha sonora e mais mísseis descartáveis, a maior adição é a capacidade de desacelerar ou acelerar manualmente. O resto da jogabilidade permanece idêntico.
