Allemand Erster Teil der Shin-Onigashima-Saga. Es war einmal ein älteres Ehepaar, das im Dorf Nagakushi lebte, einem kleinen Dorf in den Bergen. Das Paar hatte keine Kinder, bis ihnen eines Tages ein Junge und ein Mädchen geschenkt wurden. Die Jahre vergehen, und als die beiden Kinder 8 Jahre alt sind, kommt es in der westlichen Hauptstadt zu einem schrecklichen Ereignis. Plötzlich taucht ein böser Drache in der Stadt auf und verwandelt Menschen in Oni, Oger, die die Seelen anderer Menschen aussaugen. Die Oni rückten zum Dorf Nagakushi vor und stahlen die Seelen des Paares. Glücklicherweise blieben beide Kinder unverletzt und machten sich auf die Suche nach der Rettung ihrer Adoptiveltern, ohne zu ahnen, dass dieses Abenteuer das Geheimnis ihrer wahren Herkunft enthüllen würde.

Anglais Famicom Mukashibanashi: Shin Onigashima is a Famicom Disk System text adventure game. The plot revolves around an elderly couple with no children who adopt an infant boy and girl. When the children turn six, a dragon appears in the country, and starts turning people into Oni who steal the souls of others. The Oni arrive at their home and steal the elderly couple's souls. The children decide to save their adoptive parents.

The game is controlled by selecting commands such as the "Change Character" command, which allows you to switch between controlling Donbe (the boy) and Hikari (the girl). The game progress is shown by changes in the in-game graphics. The Famicom Disk System version comes on two disks released on different dates. Disk 2 cannot be played without completing Disk 1, and is switched while the system is still powered on. All later releases are switch-free.

Le couple n'avait pas d'enfant, jusqu'à ce qu'un jour, on lui confie un garçon et une fille. Les années passent, et quand les deux enfants ont 8 ans, il y a un événement terrible dans la capitale occidentale. Un dragon maléfique apparaît soudainement dans la ville, transformant les humains en oni, ogres qui aspirent les âmes des autres humains. Les oni avancèrent jusqu'au village de Nagakushi, volant les âmes du couple . Heureusement, les deux enfants ont été laissés indemnes, et ils se sont mis en quête de sauver leurs parents adoptifs, ne réalisant pas que cette aventure révélerait le secret de leur véritable origine.
