Allemand Vor sehr langer Zeit entstand eine Insel im Zentrum der Welt namens Illusia. Inmitten der Insel wuchs ein mächtiger Baum gen Himmel, dem eine besondere Bedeutung zukommt. Denn mit der Schwächung oder gar Zerstörung der Macht des Baums ist die Verbreitung des Bösen verbunden. Um die Kraft des Baums regenerieren zu können, haben sich Priesterinnen des Manaclans geopfert und sind somit eins geworden mit dem Baum - was die Verschmelzung mit der Managöttin bedeutet. Zu Beginn des Spieles hat jeder Spieler die Wahl zwischen vier Charakteren: Zunächst wäre Flick, ein eher ausgeglichener, aber dennoch auf Nahkampf spezialisierter Charakter. Tumble, eine geschickte, schnelle Kämpferin, die aber auch gut mit Zaubern umgehen kann, steht an zweiter Stelle des Auswahlbildschirms. An dritter findet sich Pop, sozusagen ein Magier in Zwergengröße, der sehr geschickt im Umgang mit Zaubern ist, sich aber dennoch recht flink bewegt. Last but not least wartet eine aus den vorigen Teilen bekannte Figur auf - der Kater Nikita, der in Children of Mana den Namen Wanderer bekommt. Er ist der eher träge Teil, langsam, aber in Besitz von sehr viel Kraft und Lebensenergie. Jeder dieser Charaktere besitzt eine eigene Vorgeschichte, die in die Story des Spiels mit eingebaut wird.

Anglais Some years before the action begins, a great catastrophe began at the base of the Mana Tree. This gives the main characters, Ferrik, Tamber, Poppen and Wanderer, who's parents were killed in the disaster, reason to find out what happened. The game takes place on the Island of Illusia, at the center of which lies the Mana Tree.

The game is a real time Action/RPG very similar to the style of Secret of Mana. New features include dual weapon systems, so characters can use one long range and one melee weapon at a time.

Although there is much more that can be done with each weapon, there are only four in the game, as opposed to twice as many in previous titles.

The game supports Wireless LAN for 4 players.
Espagnol Hace tiempo sucedio una gran catastrofe en la base del Arbol de Mana. Los padres de los personajes principales, Ferrik, Tamber, Poppen y Wanderer fueron asesinados en el desastre, esto le da un motivo para descubrir que sucedio realmente. La historia tiene lugar en la isla de Illusia, en cuyo centro se encuentra el Arbol de Mana.
El juego es un accion/RPG en tiempo real muy similar al estilo de Secret of Mana. Las nuevas caracteristicas incluyen sistemas de armas duales, por lo que los personajes pueden usar un arma de largo alcance y una de cuerpo a cuerpo al mismo tiempo.
