Anglais A fighting game featuring characters from various Capcom and SNK games. Enhancing the main gameplay feature of Capcom vs. SNK, "Grooves", sets of gameplay mechanics from Capcom or SNK games selectable before battles, have now been made more granular. Compared to the previous two, there are six grooves in total, three for each company, plus Groove Edit Mode, where the player may define a custom groove.

In the Japanese GameCube and Xbox releases, the "EO" acronym means "Easy Operation"; in the European releases it means "Extreme Offence". Both refer to EO mode, an optional easy-mode added in this edition, which causes right analog-stick directions to instantly execute moves that usually require a series of inputs.

Espagnol Este videojuego cuenta con una gran gama de personajes provenientes de las de franquicias de videojuegos de lucha producidos por Capcom y SNK, sobre todo de la saga Street Fighter y The King of Fighters. Además contiene cuatro personajes adicionales exclusivos para esta versión: Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori, Shin Akuma (Shin Gouki originalmente en Japón) y Ultimate Rugal (God Rugal originalmente en Japón), versiones fortalecidas de cuatro personajes regulares. Par rapport aux deux précédents opus, il existe six grooves au total, trois pour chaque société, plus le mode Groove Edit, dans lequel le joueur peut définir un groove personnalisé.

Dans les versions japonaises pour GameCube et Xbox, l'acronyme « EO » signifie « Easy Operation » (utilisation facile) ; dans les versions européennes, il signifie « Extreme Offence » (attaque extrême). Italien Capcom VS SNK 2 è composto quasi interamente dalle classiche tecniche di combattimento di Street Fighter e SNK, il che significa molte mosse di carica, semicerchi e quarti di cerchio e super mosse. Le novità del gioco sono i diversi "solchi" o stili di combattimento. Sebbene i groove "Capcom" e "SNK" siano stati introdotti in un gioco precedente, Capcom VS SNK 2 porta questo concetto un ulteriore passo avanti introducendo sei diversi groove: C, A, P, S, N e K. A seconda di quale groove scegli, il tipo e il numero di tecniche di combattimento che hai a disposizione cambiano, con metà delle scanalature che si appoggia al tradizionale combattimento Capcom e l'altra metà al combattimento in stile SNK. La differenza tra i due stili di combattimento è principalmente la disponibilità di alcune mosse non letali come blocchi d'aria, schivare e rotolare, con ogni scanalatura che ha la propria miscela bilanciata di dette mosse.
