Allemand Darius II ist die direkte Fortsetzung des Originalspiels von 1986. Darius II behält das charakteristische 3-Bildschirm-Format des ersten Spiels bei.

Das Power-Up-System von Darius II wurde im Vergleich zum Vorgängerspiel geändert. Die Spieler mussten nun komplette Wellen eines bestimmten Gegners zerstören, um ein Power-Up zu erhalten. Es wurden auch 2 neue Power-Ups hinzugefügt; der erste war ein neuer Waffen-Power-Up, der dem Spieler grüne, vertikale Laser gab, der zweite Power-Up war ein regenbogenfarbener Gegenstand, der alle Waffen des Spielers aufrüstete.

Anglais Darius II is the direct sequel to the 1986 original, Darius II retained the distinctive 3-screen format of the first game.

The power-up system of Darius II was changed from that of its parent game, with players having to destroy complete waves of a particular enemy to earn a power-up. 2 new power-ups were also added; the 1st was a new weapon power-up that gave the player green, vertical lasers, the 2nd power-up was a rainbow-colored item that powered up all of the players weapons.
