Allemand Anfang des 21. Jahrhunderts gibt es Krieg zwischen zwei Armeen: Die reguläre Armee der Weltregierung und Rebellen, die eine Militärdiktatur anstreben und von General Morden angeführt werden. 2026 wurden die sogenannten Metal Slugs (spezielle Panzer) entwickelt, die zwei Jahre später von den Rebellen gestohlen werden. Eine Spezialtruppe, genannt Peregrine Falcon, wird entsandt, um diese zu zerstören.

Anglais Metal Slug, originally released on the Neo Geo, is a side-scrolling shoot'em'up.

The player(s) takes the role of a soldier (or two) and fights a gigantic army. Every level consists of running forward blasting anything that moves, while collecting power-ups along the way (there's also a wide selection of weaponry in the game). In the end of each level the player goes up against one gigantic boss.

The PlayStation port introduces some extra features: there is a combat school where the player may fight with other players for the best time on each level and an art gallery.
Espagnol Metal Slug es un juego de acción de scroll lateral para dos jugadores donde te enfrentas a una malvada organización militar que quiere dar un golpe de estado masivo y crear un nuevo orden mundial.

Puedes usar diversas armas además del propio Metal Slug, un pequeño tanque que encontrarás en determinados lugares y que aumenta considerablemente tu capacidad de destrucción.

Técnicamente el juego es un prodigio, escenarios detallados y animaciones sobresalientes hacen de este juego el referente número uno de su género.

Portugais Metal Slug, originalmente lançado no Neo Geo, é um side-scrolling shoot'em'up. O jogador(es) assume o papel de um soldado (ou dois) e luta contra um gigantesco exército. Cada nível consiste em correr para frente e explodir tudo o que se move, enquanto coleta power-ups ao longo do caminho (há também uma grande variedade de armas no jogo). No final de cada nível, o jogador enfrenta um chefe gigantesco.
