Anglais SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! for Windows is a slightly different game from the console versions. The story is the same with the popular TV series "The New Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy" being in danger because the cast has failed to show up. It is up to the player, as SpongeBob, to find a replacement cast in the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom.

Unlike the console versions which focus on multiplayer gameplay, in the Windows version SpongeBob has to work alone. He has to walk around and talk to the various inhabitants in order to convince them. Here and there he has to play a mini game to advance in the story.

Français SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! pour Windows est un jeu légèrement différent des versions console. L'histoire est la même que celle de la série télévisée populaire « Les nouvelles aventures de Mermaidman et Barnacle Boy », qui est en danger parce que les acteurs ne se sont pas présentés. C'est au joueur, dans le rôle de SpongeBob, de trouver des remplaçants parmi les habitants de Bikini Bottom.

Contrairement aux versions console qui mettent l'accent sur le gameplay multijoueur, dans la version Windows, Bob l'éponge doit travailler seul. Il doit se promener et parler aux différents habitants afin de les convaincre. Ici et là, il doit jouer à un mini-jeu pour avancer dans l'histoire.
