Allemand Dirk der Wagemutige war ein heldenhafter, wenn auch tollpatschiger Ritter. Als Prinzessin Daphne vom Drachen Singe entführt und in sein Schloss gebracht wurde, machte sich Dirk auf, sie zu retten. Aufgrund der damaligen Einschränkungen der Computer enthält diese Konvertierung des Münzspielautomaten Dragon's Lair nur die erste Hälfte des Spiels, in der man Singes Schloss betritt und dem Drachen begegnet. Die Abenteuer werden in einem zweiten Teil fortgesetzt, der die Konvertierung des Arcade-Spiels vervollständigt. Dirk der Wagemutige wird vom Spieler gesteuert, der Dirks Aktionen auf dem Bildschirm aus der Third-Person-Perspektive betrachtet. Das Spiel ist reaktiv und die Spieler müssen zur richtigen Zeit die richtige Controller-Richtung oder Aktionstaste drücken, damit Dirk Fallen ausweicht, Monster besiegt und ansonsten am Leben bleibt.

Anglais Dirk the Daring was a heroic, if clumsy knight. When Princess Daphne was kidnapped by the dragon, Singe, and taken to his castle, Dirk set out to rescue her. Due to limitations of the computers at the time, this conversion of the coin-op arcade game, Dragon's Lair only features the first half of the game, which consists of entering Singe's Castle and encountering the dragon. The adventures are continued in a second part which completes the conversion of the arcade game. Dirk the Daring is controlled by the player, who views Dirk's actions on the screen from third-person. The game is reactive and players must press the right controller direction or action button at the right time to have Dirk avoid traps, defeat monsters and otherwise stay alive.

Vous incarnez l'aventurier Dirk qui part à la rescousse de la princesse Daphné, capturée par Singe, le dragon maléfique. Avant d'arriver dans la tanière du dragon, le chevalier doit sortir vivant de tous les pièges du château en misant tout sur ses réflexes.
