Allemand Thunder Force II ist sowohl ein Side-Scrolling- als auch ein TopDown shooter. Im Spiel übernimmt man die Kontrolle über ein Raumschiff. Einige Level sind SideScrolling, andere TopDown. Das Waffensystem ist verhältnismäßig einfach. Man kann ziwschen einer starken Waffe, welche nach vorn feuern, oder zwei weiniger starke Waffen, welche gleichzeitig nach vorn und nach hinten schießen. Es gibt einige Power-Ups, welche die Schusskraft verstärken.

In den TopDown Level kann man nur in vorgegebene Richtungen filegen, und man kann keine Hindernisse umfliegen, oder die Geschwindigkeit verlangsamen. Die Steuerung in den SideScolling Levels ist ähnlich wie in R-Type oder Gradius, aber mit mehr Waffensystemen.

Anglais Thunder Force II is both a side scrolling and top down shooter. In the game you control a ship. In some stages the action is side scrolling and in others it is top down (overhead). The weapons systems is fairly basic. You can switch from shooting a more powerful weapon straight ahead or two less powerful guns shooting forward and backward simultaneously. There are various power-ups that improve your fire power.

In the top down levels you can only travel in cardinal directions and cannot maneuver around obstacles easily or slow down. The control in the side scrolling levels is reminiscent of R-Type or Gradius, but with more basic weapons systems. In future incarnations of the series the top down aspect would be abandoned.
Espagnol Thunder Force II es tanto un juego de desplazamiento lateral como un shooter de arriba hacia abajo. En el juego controlas una nave. El sistema de armas es bastante básico. Puede pasar de disparar un arma más poderosa al frente o dos armas menos poderosas para disparar hacia adelante y hacia atrás simultáneamente. Hay varios potenciadores que mejoran tu potencia de fuego. Pilote o super jato pela superfície do planeta até a Fortaleza Plealos, para o confronto final, onde você poderá usar uma bomba tão terrível que não deixa nada para trás, a não ser memórias... Vá em frente bravo guerreiro, e liberte a Federação das mãos do maligno Reficul.
