Allemand Pump it up: Exceed auf PS2 ist ein Tanzspiel, das sich ein wenig von den Klassikern des Genres unterscheidet, da die Pfeile auf dem Teppich auf den Diagonalen und nicht auf den Seiten liegen. Das Spiel bietet achtzig Lieder, von denen einige neu in den Arcade-Versionen des Spiels sind. Das Ziel bleibt dasselbe: rhythmisches Drücken der Tasten auf der Matte entsprechend den auf dem Bildschirm angezeigten Pfeilen.

Anglais Pump It Up: Exceed is a dancing game similar to the games in the Dance Dance Revolution series. The Pump It Up dance mat is different from the norm as the arrows are set on diagonals and includes a button in the middle which allows for more complexity in the dance moves that are required to be performed in the game.

The general gameplay has the player watching a music video as symbols scroll by. The player must match the symbols on the screen with the symbols on the Pump It Up dance pad with their feet. Hitting the arrows in sync with the music will keep the players life bar up and give the player a good rating, while doing the opposite will drain the life bar and give bad ratings. If the life bar drains all the way, the game ends.

Français Pump it up : Exceed sur PS2 est un jeu de danse un peu différent des classiques du genre puisque les flèches du tapis se trouvent sur les diagonales et non pas sur les côtés. Le jeu propose quatre-vingt morceaux dont certains sont inédits des versions arcade du jeu. Le but reste le même, appuyer en rythme sur les touches du tapis en fonction de flèches qui s'affichent sur l'écran.
