Die Spieler treten gegen vier andere Fahrer an und nehmen dabei eine kurvenreiche Strecke mit vielen Gelegenheiten zum Luftschnappen in Angriff, aber sie kämpfen nicht nur um die Spitze des Feldes. Sie müssen auch ein paar Tricks in ihren Lauf einbauen, denn die Position hängt nicht nur davon ab, wo Sie sich im Rudel befinden, sondern auch davon, wie stilvoll und anspruchsvoll Ihr Lauf in Bezug auf Stunts ist. Insgesamt gibt es über 30 Tricks, die Sie beschäftigen.
Im Freestyle Motocross stehen Ihnen zehn verschiedene Strecken zur Verfügung, die von vorhersehbaren Orten wie Las Vegas bis hin zu exotischeren Orten wie Tombstone und Loch Ness reichen. Jede Strecke ist sowohl auf Geschwindigkeit als auch auf Tricks ausgelegt und wechselt zwischen geraden Strecken und holprigem Gelände, perfekt zum Ausführen einer Combo oder zum Durchhalten des Tricks für einen Moment länger, um mehr Punkte zu erzielen.

Anglais Freestyle Motocross: McGrath vs. Pastrana not only combines two of the sport's biggest stars, but also the two unique styles of motocross into one game. The game seeks to combine both freestyle and motocross into one event.
Players race amongst four other riders, taking on a twisted track with plenty of places to catch air, but they won't just be jockeying for the head of the pack. They'll also have to mix some tricks into their run, because position is not only determined by where you are in the pack, but how stylish and challenging your run is in terms of stunts. There are over 30 tricks in all to keep you occupied.
There are ten different tracks for you to challenge in Freestyle Motocross, ranging from predictable locations such as Las Vegas to more exotic locales like Tombstone and Loch Ness. Each track is built to suit both speed and tricks, alternating between straight-aways and bumpy terrain perfect for executing a combo or holding that trick for just a moment longer in order to score bigger points.
Of course, if the racing aspect of the game isn't your cup of tea, you can also switch to a plain Freestyle mode where the only goal is to do tricks and score points - perfect for those who like to cut out everything but the basics. You can also choose to play a Single Race or run some Time Trials. And if you get tired of playing by yourself, grab a friend and go head to head in Multiplayer mode.
