Allemand Alexi Lalas International Soccer von Z-Axis und Take 2 Interactive bringt den globalen Sport auf Ihre PlayStation. Den Spielern stehen zwei Optionen zur Verfügung: ein Freundschaftsspiel und das Turnier. Ersteres ist einfach ein einzelnes Spiel gegen einen Freund oder den Computer. In beiden Modi haben die Spieler die Möglichkeit, aus 70 echten internationalen Teams mit echten Kadern auszuwählen.
Der eigentliche Kern liegt im Turnieraspekt. Sobald eine Mannschaft ausgewählt wurde, besteht das Ziel darin, sie zur Weltmeisterschaft zu führen – dem höchsten Ziel im Fußball. Nachdem eine Mannschaft drei Spiele bestritten hat, beginnt das KO-Turnier. Schwächere Teams, die leicht verlieren, werden dann mit Beginn des Viertelfinales aus dem Turnier ausgeschlossen.

Anglais Z-Axis and Take 2 Interactive's Alexi Lalas International Soccer brings the global sport to your PlayStation. Players are greeted with two options -- a friendly match and the tournament. The former is simply a single game against a friend or the computer. In both modes, players have the option to choose from 70 actual international teams complete with real rosters.

The real meat and potatoes lies within the tournament aspect. Once a team has been selected, the objective is to guide them to the World Cup -- the supreme objective in soccer. After a team plays three matches, the knock-out tournament begins. Weaker teams that are prone to losing are then dropped from the tournament as the quarterfinals begin.

El primero es simplemente un partido individual contra un amigo o el ordenador. En ambos modos, los jugadores tienen la opción de elegir entre 70 equipos internacionales reales, con listas de jugadores reales. La verdadera carne y patatas se encuentra en el aspecto del torneo. Una vez elegido un equipo, el objetivo es guiarlo hasta la Copa del Mundo, el objetivo supremo en el fútbol. Después de que un equipo juegue tres partidos, comienza el torneo eliminatorio. Los equipos más débiles y propensos a perder son eliminados del torneo cuando comienzan los cuartos de final.
