Allemand Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Dōchū ist ein von Konami produziertes Videospiel. Es ist das zweite Spiel der Ganbare Goemon-Reihe (im Englischen manchmal als Mystical Ninja bekannt) und das erste, das auf einer Videospielkonsole und einem Heimcomputer veröffentlicht wurde. Das Spiel dreht sich um die Hauptfigur Goemon und seine Heldentaten. Wie der Name schon sagt, basiert seine Figur auf Ishikawa Goemon, dem edlen Dieb der japanischen Folklore. Das Spiel spielt sich wie ein Action-/Abenteuerspiel in der Draufsicht (ähnlich wie The Legend of Zelda), ist aber in Etappen unterteilt. In jedem Level muss Goemon drei Pässe finden, um weiterzukommen. Einige dieser Pässe finden sich in Kisten, Geheimgängen oder können gekauft werden. Nach Abschluss aller Etappen schaltet das Spiel dem Spieler eine neue japanische Provinz frei (insgesamt acht), aber alle Etappen bleiben die gleichen. Wie in den anderen Teilen der Serie kann Goemon durch das Finden und/oder Kaufen bestimmter Gegenstände aufgepowert werden, die nach einigen Treffern verloren gehen können.

Anglais First title in the Ganbare Goemon game series of action/adventure titles. Karakuri Douchuu stars Goemon as he has to make his way through several parts of feudal Japan fending off bandits and other evil-doers.

The game is played as a side-scrolling beat 'em up, but with the added challenge of having to find the exit for the maze-like stages besides beating all the baddies. Goemon fights using his smoking pipe, but he can upgrade his weapon with power-ups found in the game or bought at several shops using the money collected from fallen enemies à la River City Ransom. Features hot-seat alternating 2 player gameplay.
