Allemand Der Titel dieses Eintrags, Die prinzenlose Braut, ist ein Wortspiel mit dem Titel des Romans und des Films Die Prinzessin-Braut. Wie die meisten Kings Quest-Titel ist er auch ein Hinweis auf die Handlung: Prinzessin Rosella wird bald heiraten, landet aber kurz vor ihrer Hochzeit in einer anderen Welt. Es ist der einzige Titel in der Serie, in dem Königin Valanice in einer Hauptrolle zu sehen ist, und auch der einzige, in dem König Graham überhaupt nicht gezeigt oder erwähnt wird. Sierra vermarktete das Spiel als eine Verbesserung der Serie, indem er erklärte, dass die Fertigstellung früherer KQ-Abenteuer nicht notwendig sei, um das Spiel voll zu genießen, obwohl das letzte Kapitel eine starke Verbindung zu den Ereignissen von Kings Quest IV aufzeigte.

Anglais Queen Valanice of Daventry has always thought that getting married would be the best course of action for her daughter Rosella. However, the young princess seems to be more interested in adventure, recklessly following a mysterious magical creature into a whirlpool that eventually transfer herself and her mother to another world. The two end up in different parts of a land known as Eldritch, with Rosella being transformed into a troll. They must find each other and eventually defeat an evil sorceress who plots to ruin the land.
