Allemand Durch die Benutzung der Niedermaske im ersten Teil der Trilogie wurde eine uralte magische Kreatur geweckt, die mangels Ahnenmagie, von der sie zehrt, seit Generationen geschlafen hatte. Sie wurde von dem niederträchtigen Ahnengott Belial erschaffen, um sie als Mutter für seine Wiedergeburt zu nutzen, nachdem er vom Rat der Ahnen zum Tode verurteilt wurde. Der einzige, der ihm bei seiner Rückkehr gefährlich werden könnte, ist Scotias Sohn Luther. Noch während sie im Sterben lag, hatte Scotia versucht, die Magie der Niedermaske auf ihren Sohn zu übertragen. Doch statt der Fähigkeit zur willentlichen Verwandlung leidet Luther unter unkontrollierten Mutationen, die ihn zwischen seiner menschlichen Gestalt, der einer Echse oder einem riesigen Monster hin- und herwechseln lassen. Luther muss aus seiner Gefangenschaft auf Gladstone fliehen und die Suche nach Belial aufnehmen.

Anglais In her quest for power and revenge, the witch Scotia accidentally set into motion the revival of Belial, God of Evil. With her dying breath, Scotia gave her son Luther her mighty powers of shapeshifting, but through an error Luther received the powers in a damaged form: he cannot control when he changes or what he changes into. Things aren't easy for Luther: not only is he cursed with his mother's power, but the people of the Lands are understandably upset with Scotia and will attempt to take their frustration out on her son. With his mother's magic and a little help from the Draracle, an ancient being watching for signs of Belial's resurrection, Luther must find a cure for his curse and eventually stop Belial.

Français Dans sa quête de pouvoir et de vengeance, la sorcière Scotia a accidentellement déclenché la renaissance de Bélial, le Dieu du Mal. Dans son dernier souffle, Scotia a donné à son fils Luther ses puissants pouvoirs de métamorphose, mais par erreur, Luther a reçu ces pouvoirs sous une forme endommagée : il ne peut pas contrôler quand il se transforme ni en quoi il se transforme. Les choses ne sont pas faciles pour Luther : non seulement il est maudit par les pouvoirs de sa mère, mais les habitants des Terres sont naturellement en colère contre Scotia et tenteront de se défouler sur son fils. Grâce à la magie de sa mère et à l'aide du Draracle, un être ancien qui guette les signes de résurrection de Bélial, Luther doit trouver un remède à sa malédiction et finir par arrêter Bélial.
