Nakoruru: Anohito kara no Okurimono ist ein visueller Roman. Der Spieler hört den Dialogen zwischen Mikato und anderen Menschen zu und liest seine Gedanken über das Geschehen. Nakoruru: Anohito kara no Okurimono is a visual novel. The player listens to the dialogues between Mikato and other people, reads his thoughts on what is going on. Every now and then the player will need to choose one of the two or more options available which will lead to different dialogues or scenes. There are also some simple mini-games (such as playing a melody on a musical instrument).

Ella viene de Kamuikotan, un pequeño pueblo en la isla más al norte de Japón, Hokkaido, que está poblada por Ainu, una nación con su propia cultura y tradiciones.
