Allemand Der Titel dieses Eintrags, Die prinzenlose Braut, ist ein Wortspiel mit dem Titel des Romans und des Films Die Prinzessin-Braut. Wie die meisten Kings Quest-Titel ist er auch ein Hinweis auf die Handlung: Prinzessin Rosella wird bald heiraten, landet aber kurz vor ihrer Hochzeit in einer anderen Welt. Es ist der einzige Titel in der Serie, in dem Königin Valanice in einer Hauptrolle zu sehen ist, und auch der einzige, in dem König Graham überhaupt nicht gezeigt oder erwähnt wird. Sierra vermarktete das Spiel als eine Verbesserung der Serie, indem er erklärte, dass die Fertigstellung früherer KQ-Abenteuer nicht notwendig sei, um das Spiel voll zu genießen, obwohl das letzte Kapitel eine starke Verbindung zu den Ereignissen von Kings Quest IV aufzeigte.

Anglais The name of this entry, The Princeless Bride, is a pun on the title of the novel and film The Princess Bride. Like most Kings Quest titles, it is also a reference to the plot: Princess Rosella is soon to be a bride, but ends up in another world shortly before her marriage. It is the only entry in the series to feature Queen Valanice in a major role, and also the only one in which King Graham is not shown or mentioned at all (with one minor exception in version 1.4).[note 1] Sierra marketed the game as an improvement in the series by stating that completion of earlier KQ adventures was not necessary to fully enjoy the game, even though the final chapter revealed a strong connection to the events of Kings Quest IV.
