Tottoi, a boy about 14 years old, he emigrated to Germany with his family. After the death of his mother, his father decided to return to his home town in Sardinia. The narrative begins when the hero sees a seal, although it was believed that they died out long ago.
After his mother passes away, Atonio and his family move from West Germany to his father's home country of Sardinia. There, everyone calls him Tottoi. Tottoi tries get used to his new life and make new friends. While taking a swim in a cavern he stumbles across a seal that is thought to be extinct. Espagnol En Sardinia abundan las hermosas playas y misteriosas cuevas, hábitat natural de una peculiar raza de focas al borde de la extinción. Después de mudarse a esta isla, Tottoi, un niño fascinado por la naturaleza, visita diferentes playas y cuevas cada día. Cuando encuentra una cría de foca y su madre en una cueva aislada, le sorprende los graciosos movimientos y la inocencia de la cría, y la dignidad de su madre.
